July 2009
We had a great meeting on July 21st--we started the 2-part discussion on how to find gold and put it in your pocket. We'll finish up this series at the next meeting on August 18th at 1430 Myers Street in downtown Oroville and we'll use the August 2009 field trip to put our theories into practice. The July field trip to Frog Rock was a great event--we were joined by many of our friends from the Paradise club. Tom Munson, noted soapstone sculptor, and Chuck Kritzon, sculptor and Native American expert, gave riveting programs at lunch. All who went returned with lots of wonderful soapstone. Many thanks to these sculptors who helped explain things for us.
Well, it's now official--we're moving our Shop out of the Park District building and into a larger building where we can set up our equipment. We will give you more information on the exact location soon. We plan on continuing our rapid growth and we will continue our meetings, field trips and 2009 Show with no interruption, but we will no longer need to conform to the recently-enacted rules and regulations of the Park District. We are grateful that they helped us get a good start, but it's now time to soar like eagles and see where the winds take us!
Stay tuned for more updates. We'll talk again in August.
Sincerely,
Steve Hart
