A Note from your President, Charlee Ann Lewis

Dear Members:

 

As announced at the General Membership meeting on January 19 we are adding a new field trip opportunity for our members.  These bi-monthly field trips will be for the purpose of exploring the design of jewelry and the various methods of mounting stones.

 

Our first trip is scheduled on March 3, 2010 and we are going to San Francisco to the deYoung Museum to see the Tutankhamun exhibit.  The jewelry of this era used cabochons and other stones that we can cut in our shop.

 

Our group cost is $25.00 per person for the exhibit, we have a 1pm group entrance at the Museum.  We have 8 people signed up and for the group rate we need 10.  If other club members do not respond we will ask other friends to fill the spots.  The group coordinator at the museum said that if the group is larger than 10 they can accommodate us.

 

So check your calendar, get a sketch pad and plan to spend the day in conversation, amid Egyptian artififats and a meal with friends in San Francisco.

 

I have to confirm and pay for our reservation by February 17th so let me know if you want to join the group and make arrangements to get a check to me for the cost.  We will be car pooling together and its going to be great fun.
